Come home to winter warmth

Frosty nights and rainy days. You don’t need us to tell you that winter can be a bit glum. Although we can’t change the weather, we can keep you warm and cosy as the temperatures drop.

Pop in to any of the five locations across the UK and experience our Acts of Warmness – sink into our wonderfully warming massage chairs, huddle over a steaming mug of tea and learn about the little things you can do to keep warm, while keeping your energy bills under control.

Stick the heating on

Next time you’re about to pop the heating on, spend a minute thinking about the one thing in your house that controls over half of your annual energy bill. Not sure what it is? Your thermostat.

Lots of us struggle to program our thermostat – but did you know, a correctly programmed thermostat and thermostatic radiator valves can save you up to £150 a year? Better still, why not replace your old thermostat to one that programs itself automatically, learns your routine to save energy and even turns the heating off when you go out so you don’t heat an empty home?

If that sounds good to you, it’s time to meet the Nest Learning Thermostat™. The Nest Thermostat learns your schedule, programs itself and can be controlled with your compatible smartphone or tablet. Just turn it up and down for a few days to program it, so it gets used the temperatures you like, and it’ll learn your routine. Nest can also think ahead. Using a Wi-Fi connection, it gathers local weather data so that your heating can be adjusted accordingly. If a cold snap is looming, Nest will be prepared.

Another Act of Warmness

Our new energy tariff, Intelligent Control – October 2016, which comes with a Nest Thermostat and installation – at no extra cost (worth £249). For homeowners, this dual fuel tariff is managed online so you have easy access to bills, and paying by Direct Debit means you’ve one less thing to remember.

Plus, we’ll freeze your energy prices until 31 October 2016.

So while some things will never change (like the rainy British weather) it could be time to upgrade you thermostat to start saving energy this winter.
